I am super excited to read this book! Marya Morevna is one of my favorite fairy tales ever. Maybe you don't know this about me, and maybe you do, but I spent a year in college doing an independent study on Baba Yaga and creating a storytelling evening of Russian fairy tales.

And now, the gorgeous, gracious, and amazing Cat Valente has written a book! Okay, she's written a lot of really good books that are full of densely written, beautiful, thick rich prose. This new one, Deathless, is a mashup of Marya Morevna and the Russian experience of the horrors of WWII.
