Oh so tired. So, today, boy and I had huge day of errands. We went to Valu Village, and I got nothing, and he got four books, a puzzle, and two games. AND a set of Tinkertoys from 1975 or something. Wooden. In a cylindrical thingy. It was very cool.
The we got M some new red tennis shoes (sneakers/trainers. She does not currently play tennis. Nor has she, afaik). Unbeknownst to me, I had a frequent buyer credit at the show store and saved $25. Whee! This was a deeply satisfying thing, even if I did have to read an awful Disney Pooh picture book to the boy while we were in the shoe store.
Then we bought bananas at Trader Joes. On the way there, we saw a car on fire. The 911 operator said, when she picked up, "if you're calling about the car fire, we're on our way.". Yay!
We went to Lund's for baking powder and coffee filters, and A insisted we needed balloons. Then to Quang for lunch, accompanied by my reading aloud "Mrs Tittlemouse" and "Timmy Tiptoes" from another new purchase, an illustrated Beatrix
Potter collection. We took spring rolls and a pork patty to M at Blue Ox. We came home, and played the new games. We went to the co-op and to the awesome butcher shop.
Busy day. Very busy. And then M came home, and boyo finally fell asleep, and M and I ate amazing turkey-chèvre-apricot-thyme sausages.
Tomorrow, the auntie arrives.
